Apprenticeship of up to £15,000 (Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust)
The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) Heritage Crafts Award is for those who wish to train within the heritage craft field. The person is likely to have had some experience and knowledge of the craft, and is aiming to extend that knowledge to enhance their craft career. It is possible for the applicant to work with a Master Craftsperson who will act as a trainer and mentor, or to work with various high level craftspeople to learn different, but linked, skills. This award is being funded by QEST but initial shortlisting will be by the Heritage Crafts Awards judging team.
The final interview, selection and approval will be by the QEST committee on which there will be HCA representation. Interviews will be in London and will take place in the spring 2016 (date to be confirmed). The QEST Heritage Crafts Trainee certificate will presented at the HCA Annual Conference in London on Saturday 7 May 2016.
