HCA/NADFAS Bursary announced

Kate Barlow embroideryWe are delighted to announce the successful applicant of the very first of the new suite of Heritage Crafts Awards, the HCA/NADFAS Bursary.

Kate Barlow is currently studying many different embroidery and stitching methods at the Royal School of Needlework with the aim of teaching the skills or working in conservation. She brought along exquisite examples of her work, including a stitched portrait of Henry VIII, and the judging team knew that they had a very worthy winner.

The HCA is most grateful to NADFAS for financing this Bursary for another year, and we shall look forward to reports from Kate letting us know how she is getting on.

The remainder of the Heritage Crafts Awards results will be announced at Tool Tales, the HCA Spring Conference, on 22 March 2014.
