How to enter

Please read the following application notes which are written for all awards, and not everything may apply to the award you are interested in. Then download the relevant nomination/application form using the buttons below.

Application notes

  • Download the relevant nomination using the buttons below
  • Type into the form (preferred) or print and hand write
  • Complete the form and return by or before the relevant deadline (below)
  • Please do not send additional information (e.g. leaflets, CVs)

Eligibility

  • For any award for an individual, the person nominated must be based in the UK
  • The businesses nominated (for the ‘Made in Britain’ Award) must be based in the UK
  • For any award for an individual, the person nominated may, or may not be, a professional craftsperson
  • The craft activity must be heritage craft (crafts that have been practised over successive generations and focus on hand skill)

Application schedule

  • An email will be sent by the HCA to the proposer or nominee (depending on the Award) to acknowledge receipt of the nomination form (please note that the HCA’s Awards Officer works part-time and a response might not be immediate)
  • Referees may be contacted by the Heritage Crafts Association (but only if the nominee is shortlisted)
  • All proposers or nominees (depending on the Award) will be informed of the outcome by email
  • All finalists will be invited to the HCA’s Awards Ceremony at the Houses of Parliament on 17 November 2020 and are expected to attend. The winner of the President’s Award will also be expected to attend the presentation at Dumfries House, Ayrshire, Scotland, in September 2020 (date to be confirmed).
